Clear Skies - Not!

I managed to get the C80-ED to go through it paces last night!

Fr Paul Goh came by to retrieve his binoculars which I borrowed last month. He gave me some tips on how to use my scope and helped me clear up a few naggings questions concerning the calibrations and all. After that, I let the scope out for a spin and had a friend who dropped by to accompany me in gazing into the heavens.

The skies haven't been that clear that night but it was fun to be able to capture those stars and constellations that were able to show themselves. The problemn was I couldn't identify any of them as thee weren't enough to get a clear view or identification. We went on manual with the scope. I still am working to put the CCD into good use. I couldn't find a good time where I can play around with it yet. :P

Tonight's viewing was not possible as the skies were cloudy. The moon was up in its crescent form but not viewable from my area due to buildings. Else I would have taken out the scope and look for craters...

Perhaps tomorrow night may be better. I'm an optimist! :-D
