Christmas Tree and IYA2009
After a very long hiatus, I am back! Blame it on winter and the lack of observations due to the cold and also the lethargy and other activities that came along with the current Christmas hols.
It is the new year of 2009 and this year designates the year where astronomy begins to take centrestage. It is the International Year of Astronomy that wants to promote astronomy and get people to be better aware of the Universe. They have their website here.
I know what I shall be doing once I returned to Singapore during the middle of the year. Here is to some star gazing parties with some friends and astronomy enthusiasts within the compounds of the seminary. Along the way, perhaps some vocations can be collected as we talked about the wonders of the heavens and our place in it...
Meanwhile, here's a little left over from Christmas with this amazing Christmas Tree cluster within the Monoceros constellation (shown above).

Glad to see you back, Aloysius! :D (Tavi)
@tavi: hahaha! was a little occupied with the holiday season and the winter period can be quite bummer for someone who was bought up in much more warmer climate... Happy New Year and IYA!
