Feeling Old and How the War God Will Capture Heaven's Attention
I just turned 42 some two days ago. I feel so ooold! :-P
But I can't beat the 'oldness' of the celestial objects in the sky that are so, so beyond our usual counting limits. With these objects, they are in the realm of billions upon billions! So, at least that is some consolation in that I am not the oldest item in the universe... ;-)
Last Friday night, I did a mini marathon with another friend who dropped by, in our effort to scan the skies around the Orion Nebula. It was a fruitful session and frustrating too because I still have to grope with the CCD picture taking. :-P Nonetheless, the session helped me to further familiarise with the whole scope setup and the challenge of astrophotography.
I shall do better to get those Messier items on picture the next round!
Meanwhile, Mercury transits the Sun tomorrow morning around 8.09 am onwards. I shall be there with solar filter, my trusty C80 -ED and the CCD to capture the event! So exciting! :-D The next event like this will happen again in 2016. So, this is a rather unique time to get that picture, by hook or by crook!
